Visit the enchanted world of famed producer Hayao Miyazaki with his hit 1988 film 'My Neighbor Totoro.' Originally titled 'Tonari No Totoro' in Japan, this 2002 Fox Video DVD release brings the magic to America in English. The story revolves around professor Tatsuo Kasukabe's two children, Mei and Satsuki, who move near a hospital where Yasuko, their mother, is convalescing after a long bout with an illness. They embark on a series of adventures with a forest spirit named King Totoro, who manifests in the form of a giant rabbit. The Fox Video version of the movie features voice actresses Lisa Michelson and Cheryl Chase as Satsuki and Mei, respectively, with 'Robotech' creator Carl Macek as the Catbus, a cat-shaped bus that carries the main characters to the hospital to see their mother.Product Identifiers

Classic Miyazaki Film

A Wonderful Film
This is the original Streamline English dub which was released by Fox in the 1990s. If you're searching for this specific version of the movie, you probably already know about a lot about it. Wanted this version
I’m not going to review the movie because odds are that if you are seeking this dvd it’s because you had the VHS of the Troma dub of TOTORO and weren’t happy with the Disney version. This is definitely a dvd from the very early days of dvd authoring and you can tell from the menus and bizarre inner box art. But it delivers exactly what I wanted. The original English dub of Totoro in a format that won’t degrade with repeated viewing. I’d like to preserve my VHS so watching the dvd is a great substitute.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Original dub version on DVD! Yes it does exist! Great movie, a classic.
I had all but given up on finding a DVD copy of the original Fox dub of Totoro. So happy to locate this! Made the perfect gift for my kids, who grew up with the original version. My Neighbor Totoro is a feel good story for kids and adults alike. Fully of beautiful animation and a great story about two sisters who meet Totoro!
I was happy to buy another copy of this version of Totoro. My first one was broken and I wanted to replace it. Happy I did, however when I recieved it the parcel and opened it dvd case was smashed into about 20 pieces and I was worried the DVD was scratched or cracked. Thankfully it wasnt. "Next Stop, Little Sister" Cat Bus
This is the original U.S. dub by Tokuma Shoten, the distributor of Ghibli in Japan. It feels more "Japanese" than the later Disney dub. The cat bus actually talks in this version and there are some more frightening scenes that Disney must have chosen to Americanize. Fun story, great characters, classic anime!

Childhood classic!
