A unique film with nods to Citizen Kane. Rutger Hauer is brilliant...especially the closing scene. Gene Hackman's role is not as large a role as you would expect, dialogwise, but his presence is notable and his performance is great as always. There is a lot here to grab ahold of, between strong performances, symbolism and beautiful and sometimes startling and shocking photography.
