A standard of the sword-and-sorcery genre, THE BEASTMASTER takes its place alongside CONAN THE BARBARIAN and WILLOW. Dar, the Beastmaster, is a warrior in a mythic land who has the power to communicate with animals. He sets out on a quest to destroy the villainous cult leader Maax, who engages in human sacrifice and murdered Dar's parents. Along the way, he meets an assortment of other adventurers, and the motley crew helps Dar bypass the many trials he must endure before he can confront Maax. THE BEASTMASTER was made during the early 1980s craze for fantasy adventure films, and still stands as one of the most popular. Rest in Peace, Tonya Roberts.
I love animals and good-looking people. I always thought talking to animals was a cool power. Plus, Marc Singer & Tanya are hot eye candy. I had enjoyed this movie growing up, but her recent passing I just decided to add it to my collection. Hairless muscleman. Hairy animals. Pure awesome.

An underrated fantasy film from the 80s
This was a very hard movie to find. I was lucky to have found this in time before it was gone for good.
