dancing with no stars
This movie is one of my favorites; a spoof on characters/people who belong to the world of sport dancing; as in other "hobbies" and sports, so serious, so reliant on rules and acceptance and winning to the point of denying individuality, talent, and freedom of expression. Iconic character types, a cult-type classic that I've watched many times until my tape wore out and I needed to replace it with a DVD. Love the paso doble that the two young people perform; old style, traditional dance, with verve and passion and youthful energy and expression, with the charming addition of a budding romance. I don't know any of the actors, so can't say they were perfectly cast; but every one of them seemed authentic and true to character. A timeless movie that I will watch time and again.

Love is in the air
Absolutely delightful and engaging movie. Great storyline and script, talented cast, super sharp camera work and soundtrack, top notch set deck and costumes.. Director Baz Luhrmann's early work will put a smile on your face.

Strictly "Wonderful."
When this film first came out, I saw it over and over. There is only the slightest problem with the Aussie accent, when one might become confused between who is being referred to when it comes to "Les" and "Liz," because they come out sounding the same when spoken. But this is a charmer, with sometimes over the top outrageous comedy -- but each time I see it I notice something new. Just bought a copy for a friend, to pass it on, and reviewed it twice... and still love it so many years later. The characters are completely captivating, crazy, and loveable, and sometimes wacky/nasty. And the dancing is just great. A really uplifting, "clean," and super feel-good film, through and through.

Wonderful, entertaining movie
One of my favorite movies of all time. The dancing is unbelievably good, the story is wonderful, and the love is so beautifully illustrated. I watch this movie at least once a year just to feel happy.

Great movie, bad disc
Great movie, unfortunately the copy we received was defective. We were looking to replace one we had seen several times and got a big scratch
