A sexy beauty hired as a hit woman to break up a diamond heist and recover the booty, Modesty Blaise (Monica Vitti) is considerably more mod than modest. As brainy as she is beautiful, she soon discovers she has been set up by a combination of governmental and villainous forces. Fortunately, she possesses the uncanny ability to change her appearance in the blink of an eye, making her the envy of the fashion world as well as the spy sector. Assisted by the only man who can truly satisfy her, Willie Garvin (Terence Stamp), Modesty battles the evil Gabriel (Dirk Bogarde) and Mrs. Fothergill (Rosella Falk), along with numerous other villains, in this adaptation of the comic book by Jim Holdaway and Peter O'Donnell.

1960’s redux!
1960’s: Perhaps the costume designer should get the applause....colorful color and styles changing moment by moment. The comedy screenplay was enhanced during filming with excessive pandemonium - a circus of continuous costume changes, flamboyant gestures, and inane dialog.

Great little ditty
If you are expecting Modesty to be a fighting female, that's not shown. Her theme song is great and memorable. But is not an adventure story. It is enjoyable.

Far Out and Shagadelic
Prepare yourself for something out of the ordinary. These films have different plots, different scripts than what is normally considered normal fare in 'narrative continuity'. Being made in the 60's these films are made to be whimsical, emphasis on whimsy, 60's dry humor, and of course, filling in niches of the 60s' spy craze. Shagadelic!
