Pure Art
Fantastic performances. I read Macbeth - and I loved how it was made into film - even though the special effects of 1971 were nothing compared to today's films. Granted, I'm not a fan of Polanski's personal behavior - but the man's vision and direction were superb and creative. Look past this flaws and you will see a movie that is pure art.

Excellent , excellent , excellent !
The best Shakespeare adaption I've ever seen . The final swordfight is unequaled ... brilliant ! The witches are conceived as authentically as possible . The era presented beautifully . A bit gory ,but appropriately so.

Polanski’s is the best film version of Macbeth ever made !
Set in the time frame. Gritty & gory. Acting superb ! Love the use of Ross, a minor character in the text as a major player as Macbeth’s henchman. Beautifully filmed.
