Each chapter is devoted to the various cultures and faiths who came to America during our immigration period.
I had to read this book at Galveston College for a multicultural class during the early 1980's. Its content stuck in my mind until I finally decided that I HAD to have it! Thomas Sowell is a marvelous author!!

Everyone in the United States should read this book. Should be required reading in high school. Very good!

As usual Thom Lowell does a brilliant job.
Dr Lowell manages to integrate economics, geography, agronomy, meterology et al into a very readable book
