The Prez
Lester "Prez" Young had to have been a proud father giving birth musically to the likes of his greatest progeny Mr Stan Getz. I read a review of this disc where the authour would have preferred the songs to have been placed in chronological order, from his earliest to the last recorded effort but does it really matter when one can hear the jumping and jiving of his youth and the struggling whispers of despair in each track. This is a great intro to an even greater artist.
