A good comedy, that sadly financially broke Buster from personally financing another movie.
Wanted an old unique silent comedy. Heard that this movie was Buster Keaton's last movie he directed, financed and acted in. So I bought the movie, and wasn't disappointed. Mildly surprised with the 3 bonus films that there included.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

The General: 2001 Kino release, with 2 shorts -
An older dvd release -NOT public domain- but good quality, with approp. score. For those unaware, this film is normally in the "top 50" films of ALL time. Yes, a silent, but it IS that good. Show your children, explain the history of silent film to them, explain that 'talkies' were initially considered a mere novelty . . . While this is a totally acceptable release, tech advances in restoring silent film have taken tremendous strides in the last 20 yrs. Great MOvie from the silent movie era
This is a classic 1927 silent movie. It is sort of a comedy, but has remarkable stunts on a steam locomotive that are truly amazing. There is a final scene where a locomotive runs off a trestle and into the creek. Buster Keaton was quite a stunt man.
