Friday the 13th
I loved the movie. It had suspense, characterization, and not all of the deaths happened on-camera. (It's the only movie in the series that doesn't feature Jason Voorhees among the living or reanimated. Scream gave that fact away in its opening.) Plus, it has a strong final girl in the form of Alice Hardy.

Classic and iconic
A must have for any 80s slasher horror movie fans. Even in it's original vhs format it will make you think twice about going in the woods at night on Friday The 13th
