crazy, strange, but likeable
Sean Connery was already a superstar by the time he chose to take on the lead role in A fine madness. he had starred in 3 james bond movies and was a box office smash. A fine madness could not be more different to 007. perhaps thats why he did it. In it, he plays the part of a poet. He is a womaniser, a bum who cant stay in a job for long and a dreamer. His suffering with wife tries to look after him, but he has a terrible temper. He flies off the handle at the slightest thing and on top of that, he keeps trying to avoid the lawyers and police, who are after him for not paying alimony. and after that dark description, you will be amazed to hear that its a comedy. now despite the fact that this film is a low budget, manically written and sometimes bizarre movie. Sean Connery actually pulls it off. Just. He is very convincing and keeps the movie moving along at a pace. Its not a Hollywood blockbuster, but it will keep the viewer entertained for an hour and a half. i give it 6, possibly 7 out of 10.

SEAN CONNERY ROCKS THIS FILM !!!!
SEAN CONNERY is VERY good in this film ; funny , odd , frustrated poet running wild through the city of fools , crooked characters & engaging women :-) If you like SEAN CONNERY you will love this quirky movie !!!

Interesting to watch the actions of sean and joann.
I did not expect joanne woodward and sean connery to be so funny.
