THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST depicts the last 12 hours of the life of Jesus of Nazareth (Jim Caviezel), beginning with his betrayal by Judas Iscariot (Luca Lionello) and ending with his crucifixion and subsequent resurrection. Directed by Mel Gibson (BRAVEHEART)--who funded the film himself and co-wrote the screenplay--PASSION uses flashbacks to substantiate a handful of pertinent moments in Jesus' life and teachings, such as the Sermon on the Mount and the Last Supper, as well as his relationships with his mother and his disciples. Still, the drama focuses on the seemingly endless torture inflicted upon Jesus by Roman soldiers at the urging of the Jewish crowd that considers him a blasphemer, despite the attempts of a sympathetic Pontius Pilate (Hristo Naumov Shopov) to spare him from death. The faint of heart should be prepared for the brutal, barbaric beatings that Christ endures. Maia Morgenstern, Monica Bellucci, and Hristo Jivkov are touching as Mary, Magdalene, and John respectively, who are devastated by Jesus' fate yet aware that they can do nothing to change it. Performed in Aramaic and Latin with English subtitles, Gibson's labor of love is sure to prompt discussion and debate as to historical and Biblical fact.

A must have
Its a perfectly time release for our time.Because people see such vile murders, and hateful crimes, blood on tv screens and over and over on the news. People are not fazed enough so it had to really be as brutal as it was. Opened my eye to how much i was worth to God to be saved. It screams ILoveU and I have something for you, its love that will last and change your life deeply.

Excellent great picture
I have seen a few movies about crist, but this movie is the best movie and story about crist, it's a powerful movie it gives you and idea What Jesus Crist did for ours sins. He die for us for our sins. So we can have eternal life.

Rivioting!
Mel and Jim did an awesome job! Anyone walking away from this unmoved must be stone! Do not consider this an "entertaining" movie, It depicts the last days of Jesus on earth before descending to His Father in heaven! Absolutely a great movie!

Riveting. Mel Gibson is spot on with this movie. The actors were 100% in their character.
You get a whole new perspective of the torture that Jesus went through, but endured for the love of his father and for the human race.

Loved this movie, moments I got emotional, to see Christ's pain and suffering, so real. Just made me think of what He went through because He loved us and wanted to save human kind.

Used DVD was Better Than expected - Great Movie
This was a used item, but was in decent condition. There were some scenes in the movie when the video "skipped"; the video stopped then quickly continued over a period of several minutes. Although this was annoying, it did not interfere with the overall enjoyment of the movie.

I went to the theaters with my mom. Loved it ever since. This’s the Best movie that Describes Christ’s story.

Very good
Very good! Very close to the real story. Very good. Every Christian should watch it, so they will realize what Christ went through for us. But for children to dramatic. But overall, a very good movie!
