A class act
What can I say about Joe Sun's music? I've been a huge fan since the 1980s and it still puzzles me as to why he's not more widely know. Every album he's released has been a gem, and this one is no exception.
Fifteen tracks, some familiar from other artists, some previously unknown - that's great value for money right there. Tonight the Bottle Let Me Down is familiar, there have been many versions over the years but Joe's is hands down the best version I've ever heard. And that's not all, because there's not a duff track on the whole CD. Perhaps not quite up to the standards of his finest release, Hank Bogart Still Lives, it's not far off. This is country in the raw, I can't recommend this CD, or Joe Sun himself, highly enough. He deserves to be recognised for the great talent he is.
