It you want to see God's power buy this movie.
I am an Evangelical Christian and I love this movie. I see the incredible Power of God through the life of Samson. This was meticulous in it's portrait of a man who had more power than any other man in the form of his physical strength. He was able to fight with a lion and win. He became involved with Delilah, a woman of the world and not interested in spiritual things but, instead, on where his power came from.. She ask him many times and he finally told her that it came from his hair. That is where God had placed it. Once she knew she had his head shaved and his strength was gone. He ended up blind and spent his days working at what appeared to be a mill that he with other men pushed all day. He became the laughing stock of the enemies. He begged God to give him one last chance to show his power via the huge temple that the enemy used to taunt him. God gave him the power for that one thing and you can see it happen in this awesome movie. He asked God to take his life after he accomplished this feat against his enemies. I have watched this twice since I bought it and will watch it many more. It is one of the best purchases you will ever make.

Another (yawn) DeMille biblical epic!
This biblical story needs a more sophisticated storyteller than Cecil B. DeMille. It all seems so simpleminded yet overdone. This biblical story has good guys and bad guys. The bad guys are REALLY bad (although they are splendidly dressed), and the good guys are good in spite of having momentary lapses in virtue like Samson does. The acting is bland; the best performance comes from Angela Lansbury who gets knocked off about halfway through. Colorful, spectacular (in spite of a wimpy lion) and visually overdone. I enjoyed the operatic version by Saint-Saens much more.

Use in bible study programs
Some times people need "faces" to the biblical characters, and this helps folks to see iconic movies made of the bible stories. I have loved this movie from when it was made, and seen ever time it's on TV. This is just another way for "others" that have never "heard of" to see it.

Beautiful production of the age old stor...
Beautiful production of the age old story of how Samson is seduced and subdued by beautiful Delilah which eventually brings his demise. Romance, adventure, and a great story are brought to life in this glorious film.

Excellent Film.
Great DVD. Color quality was excellent. The shipping was very slow. I don't know why people still use media mail to save a few pennies.

Another great classic
This is one of those movies you want to keep in your stock of great classics. Full of action and follows the Bible pretty close. A joy to watch and would highly recommend to anyone.
