Definately a hidden gem
This film really asks the question of which side is right. On one side are two cops who are hunting a couple of bank robbers. However the bank they are defending easily forecloses homes and takes from the owners while the other side is two bothers who rob banks to help out Toby's (the main antagonist) family. The detail towards set designs, locations, and choice of lighting also make the film bold and stand out as unique. I was surprised at how such a low budgeted film could be so great. This film is definitely worth seeing.

Tremendous movie!
This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. Fantastic writing, very witty and at times funny. Great story. The acting is unbelievably good. Tommy Lee Jones, Ben Foster and Chris Pine turn in great performances. The supporting cast is great also. Gunsmoke fans will notice Buck Taylor in a small scene. All in all a tremendous film.

HELL OR HIGH WATER!
Great movie! I give it 5 Stars two thumbs way way up.... it’s a wonderful action movie. To be honest I have seen this movie 3 maybe 4 times and I’m willing to watch it at least a dozen more. Buy it I promise you that you will not be disappointed!

down and dirty in West Texas
the "little guy" rises up and takes a swing at the corporate behemoth (Midland Bank in this opus) ....a modern Western parable which compels the viewer to root for the character of Toby in his quest to better the life of his son - not gratuitous or self-serving in terms of violence - certainly an alternative to formulaic Hollywood drivel
