I was in need of a new machine after 20 years and am pleased at the robustness and quietness of the singer. It is light enough to carry and move around the home if needed. I even went out and bought a full set of feet. I like all the fittings and options and especially the self threading which was easy to do. My only gripe and it is a very menial one is that the cover could have been of a better quality for the protectiveness when not in use, Overall I am very happy :-)

solid construction .smooth operating.
having previously don e all my clothing alterations by hand ,this is a breeze.bought on ebay ,and have seen the same model from £100.and. upwards elsewhere. very pleased with it..only regret is not buying one sooner

A great piece of kit for a great price
I had been looking at the 4411 so was especially pleased to get the 4423 at such a great price. At my age the auto threader is really useful and has saved me from having to buy a large magnifying glass! I use 1 of these machines from time to time at work and have always been impressed.

Worth it
I’ve struggled with other sewing machines to make blinds and furnishings and now I wish I’d bought one of these earlier. Steams its way through many layers- so easy to use and a solid piece of kit. Well worth the money.

Strong and Simple
The settings are clear and the machine is easy to use, so great for beginners too. It will happily take heavy materials and is easy to take apart to clean.

Well worth the money
This is a fantastic sewing machine it's definitely a must, I have had no issues with it it's easy to use and ideal for heavy use and so pleased that I invested in it, it's easy and basic but still does the job, great for heavy material and thicker material.

Geat option instead of going industrial.
A long with a lot of other people I wish I had bought this sooner. A great solution if you don’t have a lot of room and don’t want to bug your husband with a noisy motor. It has completed the re-upholstery of a camper van with rubber backed fabric, plus Velcro, without a hiccup. Easy needle threading absolutely wonderful. My only criticism is that the foot pedal is very light in comparison and does tend to flop around a bit

Casing cheap and nasty but it works
The casing and extension table are flimsy and it is quite noisy too. I think the only good thing I can say is that it works. It's not even a patch on my vintage machines although this one does zig zag stitching.

Happy sewing!
So far v happy with my new sewing machine Singer4423. Heavier than expected but that's a good thing as I'll be using is for soft furnishings mainly. Runs smoothly and is quiet.

Workhorse
This machine makes pudding out of tough work. I have gone through several less strong machines over the years, always to be disappointed. Hopefully no more. Yes, it is pedal driven, unlike some other machines. And that is a shame, but that is the only draw back. The body is solid and it weighs a bit more with less fancy stitches. But, it does what it needs to, and that us sew. The dogs can be lowered for free style quilting. Went through felt as easy as thick denim with stuffing and other fabrics. The instructions booklet can be downloaded for free. Money well spent.
