A step up in quality with features than many won’t dip into.
Had an STR-DN1080 that bought the farm and found this receiver for about 1/3 of original retail. One interesting thing is that the Sony ES warranty is for 5 years and is transferable. So I have another 2.5 years worth of warranty coverage. The quality of the amplification is exceptional. You do give up some of the streaming stuff but I just use my Apple TV to handle that. The calibration is about as easy as any AVR I’ve used.
