Still entertaining 40 years later
I saw it a few years after I graduated high school. I always like those high school movies with the hot looking girls. Back in the 1980's there were a lot of these type movies. Sophomoric humor can be funny
For the most part, I am NOT a fan of sophomoric humor; the majority of it is crude, vulgar, immature, and pretty much offensive, which I guess are the qualities that many movie audiences look for, but I don't happen to be one of them. That being said, "Porky's" happens to contain all of those dubious qualities----but it's FUNNY! I had not seen this film in decades, and God only knows what prompted me to buy the DVD. I watched it last week, and I must confess that I ROARED with laughter, especially during the scene with "Lassie", and the scene in which the female gym coach was trying to convince the school principal that they needed to have a "line-up" of five boys' genitalia so she could identify the one that was "hanging out" in the girls' shower room!
