Functions but not normally
The device identifies as a Genesys Logic controller but is probably a Chinese counterfeit. The device functions, but when "ejecting" the storage in macOS/Windows/Linux the controller will not power off the HDD gently like any other USB-SATA bridge will do. Instead it retains power and you have to forcefully power it off by pulling the USB plug while the HDD is spinning.
