As good as Aeroflight Professional? Not yet.
I'm disappointed. This new version is not up to the rave reviews its been getting, in my opinion. I only bought Realflight 8, as my old flight sym wouldn't work anymore when I upgraded my computer; even after I down loaded updated drivers for it. Having played on a mates Realflight 5 and enjoyed it, I thought this version would be a hundred fold better, but its not. I thought this would be a good alternative; but so far I'm disappointed that compared to my old version of Aero Flight Professional it lacks some of the sophistication, model detail, viewing perspective and flight realism of AFP. I'm only just starting to play around with it and set it up the way I want it, so this is not a comprehensive review. However, it is very easy to set up, you can start flying straight out of the box, virtually which is good for me as my computer skills are very average. My laptop Toshiba is equipped for big graphics apps, handles it well. Hopefully in time, I will warm to this flight sym if I can set it up to be more realistic I will be happy.

I love this thing. Can't seem to put it down.
I have the cheap ChiCOM knock off RF 7 ... meh ...WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Totally worth the extra bucks! Let me start by saying I have literally built and flown hundreds of U-Control, Free Flight and R/C model airplanes of all kinds and scales since the late 60s. This is as close as I've ever seen to the real thing. I love this thing. Can't seem to put it down. Very realistic and lets me fly a lot of different models. Just incredibly fun. Makes me want to start building models again and get out to fly them. Wish life would let me but since it won't this is the next best thing. :-)

A "must have" for any new RC plane hobbyist.
This is an absolute must for anyone getting into RC planes. Spending hours and hours crashing virtual planes saves hundreds, if not thousands in real RC airplane repairs and replacements. Realflight allowed me to start getting some muscle memory in my hands and fingers before taking a real plane out. The graphics are great and the simulation is fantastic. I wish it had a Mac version and there are a few things that could be improved with the software, especially the training sessions but having simulator allows you to learn through trial and error with no additional cost. I loved it so much I bought one for my father-in-law and he can't stop playing it. He can't wait to fly a real RC plane now.

This product is an easy and fun way to learn how planes fly.
Simple to set up and easy to learn. It can be very entertaining and a smooth transition from a toy to a great learning tool. The airplanes fly much like a real model that one may forget that it is a simulator.

Great learning tool.
This is really great. It helps you tune in your RC skills with out killing your plane. I have it plugged in to my big screen TV up high and that really helps. I use it a lot.

Great learning tool for the beginner pilot
Very realistic simulator , with many planes to choose from as well as field locations. Gave me the confidence to fly the actual RC planes and to do so with minimal accidents. Highly recommend to beginners to get the hand - eye coordination needed to fly .. 5stars

good use full tool to practice flying without breaking models
works great the control sticks are a bit sticking and slow to return to center but are getting better with use.

Oh yeah
Awesome fun, and great for training and keeping sharp. All of my grandkids love it too, ages 3, 7 and 11. Used this sim in the past, loved it then and love it now. Thanks realflight.

RC Airplane flight is great!
Almost the same as flying a real RC airplane without the expense and time driving to a RC airport. If you crash just push the reset button and it is all repaired ready to fly again.

The best of the three
I had 7.5, 8 and now 9 love all three. The Horizon version with the spektrum controller makes me feel more confident when I'm flying my helicopter.
