Good but could do with design improvement.
A much brighter bulb than the original incandescent type. The bulb pushes the lens and reflector housing forward, but there was not enough thread left to keep that part secure. I removed the plastic reflector unit and shimmed the reflector housing with o-rings to ensure the torch would switch off correctly. Bring your old maglite Solitare back to life, brighter than ever.
It brings an old, but good quality Maglite Solitare back to life. With a brighter longer lasting light than ever before. The upgrade kit means it does end up being slightly longer than the original. Because the lens section can not screw fully back. But the benefits out weigh this. I would also recommend the use of a Lithium AAA battery these are guaranteed not to leak, have a long shelf life. So no fear of a battery leaking and getting stuck inside the Maglite. The upgrade kit is expensive but just look what a new LED Maglite costs. Don’t fix what ain’t broke.
This item for me at least, does not function as expected. In order for the thumb switch to operate the power on / off function, you will first need to unscrew the head of the torch (as you would normally switch it on). However, the replacement LED torch head has a shorter thread. This results in the thread on the torch head only just being held on. A slight touch or knock ant the torch head falls off and its ‘lights out’ Please also note that installing the LED alternative means you lose the spot to flood ability. Not as good as it seemed☹
It was easy to,fit,but when tested, the beam adjustment was restricted, due to the thickness of the part below the LED I.E..If you unscrew the bulb holder to adjust the beam then the adjuster comes off the top of the torch☹Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Maglite 1AAA Solitaire LED upgrade

Poor output.
Very disappointed. I had high hopes for this. Don't know if I got a faulty one but the output is so poor the beam will barely touch your feet. It's literally 2 or 3 lumen, 4 at most, even with a fresh battery. It's certainly not bright enough to light a dark path, maybe fumbling with your keys at the door at best. Improves the brightness
Much bright light than incandescent bulb but you cannot adjust to a spotlight because there is no range for adjustment of the focal position. Nice upgrade
Much better than the standard bulb, easy to swap but does cause the lens to sit a bit further forward than normal and you lose the ability to focus the beam so there is a central dark spot but this mentioned in the blurb so not unexpected. Still worth it.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Not quite right
