Great History & Graphics
I haven't finished the complete season, but I am pretty familiar with the territory covered. The interviews with survivors are interesting, and give verisimilitude and personal insight. Too bad there aren't that many of them around.
The graphics are quite good, and realistic. So far, the descriptions of the ships and aircraft are accurate [although not always exactly correct for the times presented; I am just getting into 1943, and there might be more issues, as newer carriers were named for those already sunk by then]. Even so, the feeling is there, and History Channel offers views and perspectives that are not available in conventional combat footage. I don't know that I've ever seen a dive bombing attack from the perspective of the dive bomber's pilot before, for example. The surface ship combat scenes seem quite realistic as well.
Of course, this primarily is a history of one ship. On that basis, even with some other important actions, such as the Battle of the Coral Sea, missing, Enterprise was a very prominent player in these campaigns, and the presentation is well worth the time.
