I have this same scope in the 4-32x50 model also. And while that model is a great scope, if you're hunting close, under 50 yards, like I do in the south eastern swamps, I found the field of view even down on 4x to be extremely narrow. That's why I got the 2-16x28 model. Much wider field of view at 4x, and even more so at 2x. I especially like the fact that I can plug either in to a large battery pack and use them all weekend without having to worry about batteries dying. Others have said that they didn't like the way they had to constantly adjust the focus when the target only moved closer or further a few yards. While that is annoying, for under $500 its something I can deal with. All in all, for the price point I think they have a very clear picture in day and night mode....the day mode actually brightens your view right up until you have to switch to night mode and turn on the IR light.
