Nice but with quirks
My son is a serious train nut, and we have quite a few Lego train sets. Horizon Express hits: Colors, interior detail, iconic TGV design, plays well ie doesn't loose parts too easily, works/looks good with Power Functions. Misses: No track included, construction of passenger cars is a bit contrived and results in loose ill fitting bricks, train looks incomplete unless you buy a second Horizon Express so there are power units (engines) front and rear, method of coupling (peg/hole) second/rear car results in tipping/derailment at medium power function speeds. We are glad to have this set, but it is a bit of head scratcher from Lego. One of the Nuances of an Expert Builder set? Would be better with simpler parts for side of cars, maybe have just one car and two power units for a cleaner look, and tone down the interior detail (can't really see it once built anyways) in favor of providing track or Power Functions.
