Perfect movie for schools these days

One of my favorite childhood movies
I saw this when I was 7 / 8 years old for the first time. It came on HBO a lot and I remember always catching it when it came on. Great story. Awesome characters. Some very good acting as well as the actors who played them. Including Matt Dillon and Ruth Gordon and Martin Mull. The basis of the story ultimately revolves around bullying. I don’t want to say too much to spoil it. For me there are a couple memorable scenes. It does tug at the heart strings as well as got my adrenaline going. Idk if this will help in deciding wether anyone here will buy it or just watch it. Just remember it’s from 1980. No special effects.
