Great phone with a little bit of work.
I purchased this phone for 2 reasons. 1. The DAC for outputing high res music through the 3.5mm audio jack. 2. The camera, which is amazing. This is an unlocked AT&T phone which has alot of att software on it. I use it on Mint Mobile using T-Mobiles network. Dont expect wireless calling to work. It doesn't on mine. Not a biggie for me. It seems everything else works fine. Ok having said all that then we must talk about updates. If you expect to update this to Pie you are going to have to either borrow an AT&T SIM or buy a one month prepaid SIM. Install the SIM for a few hours or so perhaps overnight. You can check for and update but it may not show up. Take the SIM out and put you own carriers SIM in. Wait an hour them check for an update. You may now be surprised to find it there now waitinh to install. Ne prepared for at least 7 updates the thirdt or fourth being Pie. This worked for me on two of these phones using the same AT&T sim. Also you can remove the AT&T software permanently by using command lines using relatively easy although some may just wish to hide them. Search permamently remove AT&T software in YouTube. I love this phone. The only issue for me is this trent of modern phones having narrower screens. I really enjoyed my Nexus 6 due to the wide screen. All good things come to an end. Great except had to flash LG's stock Android 9.0 onto the device.
Let me start this off by saying, that the phone is awesome so far. Waaaaaay better than my terrible Google Pixel 1 XL. Only downside is that I had to flash LG's stock Android 9.0 onto the device due to it coming with AT&T garbage which definitely killed the battery much quicker than it should have. Great Phone !!
I have had this phone almost a Year now. I love it, absolutely the best phone I have ever owned. Its better than my wife's IPHONE X. Pictures are incredible, the Audio is impeccable, it plays every game with the highest settings. I have loaded with Apps and nothing bogs it down. I would buy it again and again and again. The folks on XDA forums hate on LG but they are those super geek type who are always messing with their phone. I actual work in IT and my phone is the last damn thing I want to work on at the end of the day. I just want my phone to work and work well. This phone does that .. This is a very nice phone. Good long lasting battery. The only problem was that they stated an instruction manual was included. There wasn't.

2018 Flagship phone spec at only $300!
New phone at $300 with 2018 flagship spec! Phone is responsive, battery easily lasts me a couple days (not a heavy user, mostly web browsing, texting, and occasionally music and google maps). Camera is great for regular use. LG software updates are pretty slow, but their hardware makes up for a good part of that in my book. A REALLY GOOD PHONE!!!
The phone is really fast. The screen display is clear and projects more natural colors. The battery is good overall. I usually make it to end of the day with 10%-15% remaining. However, the "standby time" is even better. (Just remember, AOD or message lighting features impact battery also.) There are several things I wished the phone had: 1) LED notification lights 2) Power placement on the side; instead of the back 3) LG wallpaper/theme options Overall, the points above are not deal-breakers. For example, one could enable flash notifications given there are no LED notifications. In conclusion, reception and call quality is very good; an important point often omitted in reviews. Given that I travel a lot for my job, I can attest calling/multitasking is not a hassle with this phone. Positively Surprised
Coming from a Galaxy S7 (couple of years older), and a rather tight budget, I was hoping to get a decent device. Well, at the price I got this phone and the few upgraded features, I'm pleasantly surprised to how good this phone performs. Less features than cheaper LG phones
