Didn't like the second movie, Lilith; the Ship of Fools was excellent.
Ship of Fools is a great film because it deals with how people deal with the real threat of Fascism via Hitler in Germany. You get to know the characters and how they think, not necessarily about fascism, but about life in general, and some people don't view Hitler as a threat, some think he will be overthrown, some actually like Hitler. Oskar Werner is excellent as one of the officers on the ship. Also, there are paying passengers, and rescuing immigrants who have to live down on the open deck. The way that the main characters respond to the poor immigrants tells you a lot about who (the rich characters) they are. Lilith was a mess, after 15 minutes I turned it off.

Enjoyable movies

For the Price, It's TWICE AS NICE !
Both movies are Classics but my favorite is Ship of Fools ! I first saw it in the theater when I was much younger, and didn't appreciate it, but as I grew older, another viewing peaked my interest. Now, owning it is a real pleasure. (A widescreen version would have been a bonus, but at this price it's a KEEPER! !)

Real Action Acting
They don't make movies like this anymore. A true classic in every sense! Both are a must watch for movie geeks. Lee Marvin is one unforgettable character and I love it.
