However, the Fantom enjoyed a strong rivalry with the rear drive 2WD Plazma series, also made by Kyosho. The Plazma’s final and ultimate model was the MKIII Limited which was released in 1987. Like the 1987 original, the new Plazma MKIII Limited features a carbon fiber main chassis, but the original black FRP upper plate and A-shaped joint bar are now also made of carbon fiber.
