The Fluid Is The Key, Along With The Right Brush
I got this product mainly for the cleaning fluid, not the brush. I have 40 year old original Discwasher brand brushes. Theses are correctly made so that the nap of the brush material is pointed the same way the arrow is on the end of the brush. That way the brush can cover the entire surface of one side of a vinyl record or disc. When used correctly the original Discwasher brush will easily clean one side in a few minutes. Next, the quick use of an anti static brush like Hudson HiFi’s or the much more expensive Audio Quest brush will get rid of all static build up and leave your vinyl ready to sound its best. Not quite up to par with the original, but still works well.
I was hoping this would be relatively close to the original design of the Discwasher from back in the 1970s. While this LOOKS much like the original, this one is VERY lighweight. I'm not sure what kind of wood this one is made out of, but it's lighter weight than my original walnut one, by a fair bit. The handle is also not drilled/routed out to hold the fluid bottle. Also, the fluid bottle is now a mister bottle instead of a dropper bottle. I like the original bottle better. Fluid does a great job, though, so absolutely ZERO complaints there. The other minor issue I have is the design of the pad cloth itself is slightly different. The original Discwasher pads had a velvet cover that was seamed at the corners to make it squared off, and also to make the bottom side of the pad almost perfectly flat so it would cover an entire record without having to press it down. The new one has the velvet pulled over the pad but not seamed at the corners, so you have to press down on it a bit to get contact with the entire record. The quality of the cloth, so far at least, seems just as good as the original. I would give it a solid 4 out of 5 across the board. It does the job it's designed to do very well, but it COULD be better in those ways, like the original design was better. For the price, it's still a deal, though, as market demand has driven resale value on the originals through the roof. My only concern would be that if you have a more modern turntable that couldn't take the stress of pressing against the platter and record by the pad, that might be an issue, but for those like me who are using sturdy old vintage turntables, this is fine. Great value
You will often find this product marked up in record stores, so eBay is the obvious choice for items like this. The cleaning solution cleans records well. The brush is only good for cleaning with the solution. Otherwise you should use an anti-static brush.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Still cleaning those grooves!
I've used Discwasher products for decades. When it comes to removing fine dust particles from those delicate vinyl grooves, the combination of Discwasher's brush and cleaner has never had a peer for me. Used properly it can bring back a very dusty recording.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Good to see it again
Discwasher and I are old friends, I renewed our relationship when I recently bought a turntable to listen to LPs that have not been played in 30 or more years. Really makes my records shine
