Good flue temperature display
There are lots of different types on the market and spent quite a bit of time selecting this one. It has a clear display, works consistently which gives confidence in the accuracy of the reading. Should have got one sooner!
Good product, surprising how easy it was to have the log burner running above the required temperature. Also bought a hear operated fan, amazing difference, log burner is in a large room of a 200 year old farmhouse with a high ceiling, we used to have cold spots but the fan has made it an even temperature. Excellent Item
I was tempted to cut costs and save money and get a cheaper one; but reneged and bought the Valiant one. Glad I did. It is robust, clear to read and has a string magnet. Stuck it on the side of the burner (doesn't hold on the flue) and we glance at it all the time to check the heating/burning efficiency. Seems to do the job
Seems to do the job and the magnets attachment works well. The temperature reached in my stove chimney collar when the stove is burning hot is still only just in the green area. I expect each system will have slightly different ideal temperatures and one learns that by experience. Valiant magnetic thermometer
I bought this as I wanted a thermometer that was good quality and did the job all whilst giving me an accurate temperature readout. I must say, my initial thoughts on this valiant product are that it is a cracking piece of kit, gives an accurate readout and has a good strong magnet to stick to the flue pipe. Great product to maximise your stove output.
Since fitting the temperature gauge to my flue pipe I have found it a great aid to getting the optimum burn from my stove, by making minor adjustments to the air intakes I can see the benefits quickly. I tested the temperature display against a hand held LED infra red laser unit and the figures virtually matched to be as close as not enough to bother about. Does what it says.
Good product! I was burning too cold and could accumulate creosote! When I got this I could maintain a perfect burn with no chimney fires. There were cheaper options but this has no downsides! This item was bought for my gas barbecue. It sits on the dome and does the job fine, giving a good idea of the temperature beneath the lid. Item different colours from picture shown!
Very accurate, temperature matches IR gun. Now grey and green not black and red as picture shown. A quick glance lets you know the stove temperature.
