Great multiuse tool.
I really like this unit. It is easy to set up and once you turn on the magnets it doesn't move on you. I like the fact you can remove the magnets and use them to make other jigs. I can also make other attachments to hook onto it. All you need is some screws of the same thread. All in all a great multiuse tool.

Great Invention, Somewhat Wasteful Packaging
The magswitch is a very clever design. I'm talking about the little magnets with their knobs, which turned one way are just heavy lumps, but turned the other way are very powerful magnets. Setting up a jig on a cast iron table is really easy and handy with these. But, they are pricey. I bought one of their fences at about half price from the clearance counter at my local Rockler store. So, I needed two of the bases with their magnets to set it up. The least expensive way to do that was to buy these starter kits which include the three needed parts (two switches and the base plate) and one throw away (the feather board attachment). Yes they are modular, but once you have your fence assembled, you aren't going to be taking it apart just to use a feather board, especially not an absurdly expensive one like this. Instead, you will use a normal T-slot setup for that. In fact, if you want a vertical feather board, you use a normal T-slot one on your nice magswitch fence. So the feather board attachment is just a silly waste. But, the magswitch base is really nice.

Secures and guides pieces perfectly
Works better than expected. I already had a feather board but this one has a much stronger magnet and using the vertical feather board is fantastic. No more pieces rising up from the table surface.

I told it like it was with my first use.
Put it to use shortly after it arrived. I cut 4 walnut strips to 1/2 in sq. Beautiful cuts, work held where I positioned it. Still have all my fingers. Great, awesome product in my view.Thanks, Ed

Strong and works as described
Easy to use and flexible. Works great with my Saw Stop table saw.. Magnet's are strong and hold firm. I didn't realize it was compatible with vertical feather board.
