In 1916, the British built a vehicle that could pound the battlefield impervious to enemy fire, crushing obstacles and barbed wire in its path. The first tank, or "Mother" as it was known, had arrived. In Tank you can view it in detail, along with other iconic models including the German Panzer, the legendary Tiger, the Vickers Medium Mark II, the Centurion, and the Hellcat - the fastest armored fighting vehicle ever. This comprehensive volume takes you through the most exciting story in recent military history with the development of heavy artillery, anti-tank weaponry, and the men - such as Mikail Koshkin and Sir William Tritton - who designed these awe-inspiring beasts. Produced with The Tank Museum, Tank traces the tank's development in response to two world wars, Korea, Vietnam, the Cold War and many other conflicts. It shows each model in detail, highlighting details such as their performance, specification, armor, weaponry, and much more. If you are interested in modern warfare, Tank is truly unmissable reading.

  • The TANK book

I am an avid armor lover from models and reference material in my teens to being a Marine Corps Tanker in my 20's and having a library of tank reference materials now in my 40's. Always looking for good Tank reading material that includes new information. I was debating purchasing this item for a few months. I thought it would be just another overview of tank development since WWI which are many and very vague. But this was nice evening reading material. It is well written. It kept my interest concentrating on some not so main line tanks and including a lot of interior pictures of tanks I actually have not been in. It kept my interest and I was pleasantly surprised I read each page in full with all picture captions within a week and a half or so. I waited until I was able to purchase the item with shipping at a certain price I set for myself and have been extremely happy with the purchase. It adds well to my library and can be used as reference but is not necessarily a model reference book as it encompasses a large gambit of tanks and not large area's of tanks for reference put specific items such as sights, breeches and other exterior and interior items. I hope this helps you to decide if this book is for you.
