Locates fish
I'm using this with a fish 'n ski. Yes, I would love to have a larger unit. Who wouldn't? In my opinion the 7" screen is the perfect price to performance range for the avid angler who doesn't mind spending a little more for good quality and great capabilities in a fish locator. I mounted this one to the bow with intentions of upgrading screen size if needed. I figured I may want something larger for standing, but this screen size is just fine. Very Nice but kinda misleading
Assumed it came with smart strike, but no(compatible I found out). Everything is quite vague as far as hummingbird. Hardly any instructions. Came with a map card, that is easy to set up, but took a day and YouTube video to figure out. I was to the point of returning it, but after dialing it in, it is pretty awesome! GPS is spot on, images are crisp, and response/sensitivity is amazing. Another reason for 4 stars is, I knew I wanted a helix 7, but then you can get a GPS, sonar, down image, side image, g2, g2n... I am just moving up to the GPS technology so I really don’t know what’s out there but I know this is a very nice and very easy to use unit.
This is a very easy unit to install. It’s very easy to operate especially for someone who is not used to this technology. I’m an old-school guy and I am just getting used to using the newer technology. You can NOT select a better Sonar/ Fish Finder Unit w/ GPS.
All features are tops and the device performs just as Humminbird advertises. This is my third Humminbird and my second Helix 7 G2 / G2N w/ DI & SI & GPS. I can't say enough good about the quality and precision of my Humminbird units.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

We are being ripped off when upgrading to Helix unit from older model(959).
The unit works well for what the sonar is design for. I aim not happy about the plotter setup because Hummingbird decide to go with Micro SD chips in the new Helix units. If you are upgrading from older unit (mine is a 959) the standard SD chips will not work. That part is not made very clear until after your purchase. These chips cost from $125 to $175 apiece (Lakmaster or Navionics) for each area you wish to fish. I contacted tech support about getting some credit by turning the old chips being Hummingbird distributes the Lakemaster chips to sporting goods stores with no success and am waiting to hear from corporate office.
