Subwoofer for the average sized U.K. room
After looking around for some time at the crazy world of subwoofers I was pulled between buying a really good named brand second hand for a good price or look at alternatives. I chose the latter - mainly due to the new technology in speakers now which became apparent when we purchased Amazons Echo unit... The latter has a truly excellent frequency range and the bass is remarkable for such small speakers with a good sound level and no distortion at higher levels. This led me to go for a new subwoofer unit and it became clear the new units also had a feature not found on a lot of older more expensive units - auto off when no signal is on the input of the unit - a must now electricity costs so much. After looking for some time I came across this unit at a new cost which was less than I was looking at for second hand items! It had everything I wanted including the auto off function so I took the plunge and placed an order. The unit came promptly and after plugging the unit into my Sony STR-DH520 amplifier and performing a new surround speaker calibration test I was more than pleased at the better rounded sound my system was no producing. To explain a bit further - before the sound was lacking on the bass which was noticeable to me - I don't like booming base and I'm not interested in 1000s of Watt subwoofer speaker - I just want a rounded sound without hurting my ears or having the neighbours want to kill me! This subwoofer fits that bill very well without being daft. It's sensible and gives a full adaquate sound which I am sure you will be pleased with. Very nice speaker.
Very nice speaker, but I found when connected into existing stereo speaker system, using auto off switch, the speaker shuts down at low volumes. Best to leave in always on position and turn off after use. Might be o.k. using low level input, direct from amplifier, an option not available on my system. This speaker seems to need a high level of input to function.

I needed a small sub to compliment a small home cinema setup but as it is in a bedroom I didn't need it to make to much bass just to control the bass coming from the amp. Because of the proximity to the speakers I just wanted a system that would sound better with movies than a sound bar. And this little sub was the best value sub that I could find and is very compact but it does make a difference to the overall sound quality as the speakers aren't trying to produce bass and that means I can keep the volume to a minimum and still get results. Anyway worth a look at if you want a sub for a small/medium room if not look elsewhere but for movie's / TV is Great.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu
