Battery works well in my 80gb 6th generation iPod
This is a good replacement lipo batt for my 6th generation classic iPod. They don't make these iPods anymore so I thought I would try to resurrect it. I read reviews that this is a very difficult iPod to "crack open" and they were right. The tools are pretty much useless except to release the data cable and headphone cable in my case since the case is fitted so tightly.(I used three exacto knives, custom made aluminum can inserts, pliers taped off and the plastic tools to crack it open.) (Apple makes good products but they lose all their positives when it comes to maintenance /serviceability.) The performance of the battery seems good and just as good as the original. The only thing is that with this new batt I can only charge it via the computer. The original small cube charger will not work. I was lucky and kept my old firewire charger from my old 3rd generation 20gb which surprisingly charges it. Very strange. This is common from the threads I have read and has to do with the batt/motherboard configuration. Overall I got the case open (minimal damage) with a little patience and tips from iFixit and watching youtube videos a few times. VERY PLEASED
Glad to get exactly what I ordered in the exact shape and size, with power leads the exact length, and bent and formed exactly as needed to facilitate a really easy installation. Talk about an EXACT REPLACEMENT! It came very well packaged and arrived much sooner than expected - even came with new mounting strips. Appears to charge and work fine with 80GB Classic
Replaced a 10 year old battery with this and so far so good. Seems to have charged and Ipod works again. Be careful when removing the old battery as it will stick to the hold switch flex cable and tear it when removed. Will see if it last as long as original.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Swollen battery
The molex cable is on the wrong side of the battery. Also, the battery is puffy and thicker than the original. I pod will not seal tite because of this. I did decide to put the ipod in an aftermarket case just to keep it shut. So far the battery is holding a good charge. I really can't recommend this product.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Return from the dead

Not charging
