Much needed for Testors, Model Master & Aztek Acrtylics!
If you've been using Testors, Model Master or Aztek brand acrylic paints for airbrushing, then you will want to add this thinner to your arsenal. Sure you can use water to thin the paints along with other concoctions, but this Universal Thinner was made for these brands specifically! And I have to say, after using it, I can see why it's been formulated specifically for their own brand of paints. Thinning with water can break up the paints too much. This formula is designed to thin the paints evenly while keeping the paint pigments completely intact! This is important for clean paint jobs. Most acrylics are toted as being "Ready to spray" but actually don't spray as well as they could in some airbrush setups. We all use different sized needles in our airbrushes and sometimes a paint just needs to be thinned for that. Also everyone has their own preference for how thin they like their paints. I like mine really thin and spray at low pressures. This thinner is the only thinner.. that has allowed me to get that right consistency I look for. As well as keeping the pigments tight in the carrier of the paint. I use Model Master and Testors brand acrylics, along with craft acrylics. And I have to say even with craft acrylics, it does a great job of thinning those paints and running through my airbrushes. Much better using just plain water with craft paints. I even have an old vintage bottle of Pactra brand acrylic paints that I use for special occasions, and this thinner works beautifully with those older acrylics as well. For the price of one bottle of this thinner, it is money well spent! Stop trying to mix your own home brews for your Testors or Model Master acrylics and buy what was made for it. It will last you a long, long, long time! I've still got a pretty full bottle and been using it daily! Two to 3 drops is usually what I need per cut of paint for that session. I highly recommend picking this up if you're serious about thinning your acrylics. Aztek acrylic thinner
Acrylic paints are great! And the vary a great deal from brand to brand. Its important to only use the same brand thinner as paint when painting with acrylics. I like the testors model master line because the thinner is odorless and the paint is consistently good. With Aztek thinner my airbrush stays in smooth working order in between cleanings. In conclusion; Aztek thinner is a reliable product that one can find readily in any hobby or craft store. A four ounce bottle lasts me more than 2 maybe 3 months ( and I build a lot of models ) and even though its a great product, its not too expensive. I bought this online because it's hard to find where I live here in Utah. I do a lot of paint-by-numbers and often enough I get paint that is dried up or really lumpy and hard to paint with. The Testors paint thinner helps bring the dried up paint back to life after allowing it to sit for a day or so, and it thins out the lumpy paint and makes it smooth again. Acrylic airbrush paint thinner.
