Okay for Students; Not Artists
If you are purchasing this sharpener for a classroom setting, you'll be happy. However, if like me, you are purchasing this sharpener for an artistic setting, prepare to be disappointed. This sharpener will absolutely inhale any pencil put into it. On top of that, it gives more one-sided points than any sharpener I've ever used. The sharpening blades seem to be lose right out of the box which may play a part in that. Hard, medium, or soft-cored pencils; it makes no difference. If you're planning on sharpening a premium-grade colored pencil, like a Prismacolor or Caran d'Ache Pablo, plan on watching your money get tossed in the trash. Also, before you say "Any artist should know that hand-sharpening is the best way to save yourself from this kind of disappointment"; try it. Sharpening by hand is a nightmare. That's the ONLY reason I gave this sharpener two stars. Again, if you only plan on using this sharpener for #2 pencils or some cheap Crayolas or RoseArts, you'll probably be satisfied with your purchase. I'm not sure about durability as, again, the sharpening blades seem to be rather loose by design. Lastly, the seller plays no role in this review, so please do not judge them based on my dissatisfaction. Hope this review helps!

Bostitch manual pencil sharpener
While electric pencil sharpeners are just fine, my small grandchildren are using those pre-K fat pencils for drawing. This manual sharpener has two sizes that fit those pencils and the kids love to sharpen them with it. Not everything needs to be plugged in! We love it. It's sturdy.

great pencil sharpener.
I love the way it sharpens my colored pencil's I make all my greeting cards and gotta have sharp points. I had one before, the knob broke so had to have another one I bought the same one, best sharpner ever.

Just what we needed.
This replaced another that has failed. It is of superior quality and antimicrobial, as well! This is being used in an after school learning center for elementary students..

Fine quality item
Sleek, attractive, and incredibly sharp. Read a review that said it "eats" pencils. Just don't push the pencil. It's sharp enough you don't need to. I tested this on #2 pencils, colored pencils, and my pricey graphite sketching ones. So sharp I could pierce my ears with them.

Every bit at good as the ones I used in grade school!
I don't know anything about antimicrobial but it sharpens pencils and the guts (dual helically ground rotary blades) are replaceable! I found the blades before the sharpener and seem to run between 7-7.50 USD. This sharpener probably will last me a lifetime with the original set of blades though. I like that it's so easy to use and can be disassembled and cleaned (and the blades changed) without tools. Good construction, easy to use, mount, understand, etc. It has earned a permanent place in my shop.

Old skool sharpener
Broke my old sharpener doing some home reno (plastic ones don't like 5' drops to concrete). Saw this one online and it looked good, all metal. This thing sharpens a pencil down to a mosquito's nose! Great lil' sharpener!

Great manual pencil sharpener:)
This hand crank sharpener that can be wall or desk mounted is just what I wanted. Mostly metal parts makes it feel like it will last. It sharpens any size pencil to perfection! This sharpener comes as close to the quality of the sharpener I grew up with without paying the high price for a vintage one. I think I like this one better because I can get replacement parts and I feel it sharpens perfectly. Very happy with it.

It's a pencil sharpener, what's to say?
It's a pencil sharpener, what's to say? At least it's metal, and not plastic. Probably still "Made in China". Forgot to check the box. We had one like this when I was growing up and it always worked. No electricity or batteries required.
