Dirt yes
I came to the conclusion that all railroads at one time or another need to move ballast for their railroad these cars are the clear ticket to do just that . Many short lines would use cars such as these in a clean up operation. they will work for ballast as well but for most larger roads they might be on the small side. Other than that they are great looking and built very well. I would not hesitate to give them a 5 star rating. should you decide to purchase a set of these cars you will be very pleased with them. I Am.

High-Axis Aide-Dumo Car
Singly, or in a string, these are remarkable little cars; good for contractor loads, pit work and right-of-way repairs. A remarkable product of the injection molding industry, rhese cars are durable if carefully handled. They could possibly be Bachmann’s best product to date.
