Faucet Leak
After a few years my Moen double handle kitchen faucet started to leak. After I replaced the ' O ' rings on both cartridges, I still had the leak and found that due to lime buildup I needed to replace the whole cartridge on one handle. I found this OEM replacement on ebay and a lot cheaper than at my local plumbing supply stores, so the few days I had to wait for the part to arrive was worth it. I also bought a spare then after it solved the problem.

Orignal Moen Product
Real product form Moen. Didn't come with grease package, but was packed in a zip lock bag with lubricant which was all it needed. Works smother than the valve that came with the facet.

Works perfectly in my Moen faucet
The Moen cartridge works as expected. The package came with good instructions. One important clue to assure a perfect installation is the rotation direction, since most Moen faucets uses a reverse (left hand) rotation for the hot water handle. I discovered this years ago while fixing my father's faucet. The new cartridge is much smoother as the original was leaking and harder to turn due to common wear after many years. I recommend all Moen products.

Get the real deal! No after market parts!
Moen original valve cartridges are easy to replace. I tried saving a few dollars on after market parts. They don't work as effient and don't last very long.

Great part; getting the old cartridge out can be difficult.
The cartridge works well and completely solved the leaking problem. Removing the old cartridge is difficult. After doing some internet research I came upon this method: Search for You Tube video using "How to remove stuck Moen 1224 cartridges" and choose the video by Bob Salatiello. He gets to the heart of the matter at about 5 minutes into the video.

got it on time. Use original Moen parts,tried 2 after market parts, both leaked. Moen OEM works !!!

A Moen Part for a Moen Faucet
It is a factory part for a lavatory faucet made by the same company complete with an instruction sheet for installation.As long as the right part is ordered the repaired side will be as good as new. May need two if both cartridges need replacing.

original parts are the wat to go
I always like to buy original equipment parts when I fix anything and these cartridges did the job and they are original replacement parts for moen which are hard to find at the hardware stores.Like they always say you get what you pay for.
