Perfect for end-grain, and use on a shooting board.
If your looking for a Plane for a Shooting Board then this is the one! Its excellent on end grain with little force needed. The adjustable Toe is a great help and its easy to achieve the best mouth needed. The Depth adjustment wheel was a bit fiddly but that's probably because it's compensating for the low angle blade, but it's a good trade off. Its a all-round excellent Plane, well worth the money.

Sharp, flat and easy to go out of the box.
I've bought lots of planes over the last couple of years. Some in need of restoration. Some 'cheap' that needed fettling to get to good order. This one was different. It was ready and set with a flat sole, sharp iron (decent polish on both side of the cutting edge capable of 1/1000th of an inch cut) and good to go. It's a thick iron too. Totally happy with this purchase.

Good value, but flawed plane
Received the item with a chuf mark from the assembly line. Material quality is ok for the price. Setup required was about an hours worth of fine tuning. However the design fails in the adjustment controls that are fiddly and awkward to use making repeated adjustment a pain. If you can afford a higher quality plane I would not recommend this one. It will be ok for my needs and budget.

Pleasantly Surprised
I own lots of planes including lie nielsen this is my first Stanley Sweetheart. Apart from the finish on the handles I can’t fault it it works extremely well straight from the box. Perhaps if I had tried these sooner I wouldn’t have so many others! Good tool, good value.

excellent quality tool excellent value for the money.
I received this Stanley No 62 sweetheart low Angle jackplane in excellent time and excellent condition, I was very surprised how good this plane is , great quality and great value for the money.

A lovely plane
Stanley have made a plane that is well thought out and quality that you get with there older planes. It will give many years of use .

I give the plane 5 stars
I have onle use the plane on Swedish picht paine but i will take the plane to Thailand there you have hardwood but i think no problems with that becuose low angle .Best Regards John

A good all round plane
The low angle is good for end grain planning ,the adjustable mouth makes planning difficult grain easier

Very versatile plane
Amazing versatility and could almost be the only plane you need. Very happy I took the chance and would certainly recommend this tool.
