Excellent dual-band radio
This small handi-talkie is being used for Amateur Radio purposes, and it is loaded with features not expected. Haven't had it for very long, but it performs well with over 6 watts output power on VHF. This model is an updated version with three levels of output power; the earlier version has two. Receive sensitivity is good. As I become familiar with its functions and navigating the software interface, it is proving to be easy to use. Contrary to one Youtube review (of the earlier model, I believe), this H/T is definitely not "cheap" in either appearance or feel. The included speaker/mic is also good in construction and operation. Added to the RT5 in the photo is an optional dual-band antenna, RDH 701, which provides increased gain (better performance) than the standard "rubber duck" antenna supplied with the radio.

Retevis RT5 walkie radio
These radios have a very strong signal and reception and a lot of features. Setting them up is a little tricky without the computer software, which is not included, but with a little patience you can get by without the software (not a beginner's radio) They seem to be very durable and of good quality similar to radios that cost 3 times as much. Equal or Better Than the other low cost walkie -Talkie
The Price is better. The color helps find it (when it is miss placed) & it will be hard to mistake this for a hand gun!
