When the German Focke Wulf Fw190 fighter burst onto the scene over France in 1941 it took the RAF by surprise, outperforming the Spitfire Mk V. At the time the RAF described the performance gap as a quantum leap. Its superior performance on the Eastern Front had a significant impact in the air war against the Soviet Union. Graeme Douglas gets under the skin of the Fw190 with the new-build Focke Wulf Fw190A-8 and D-9 models built by the Flug Werk company in Germany. A Fun-Read...
This is the third or fourth 'Owner's Workshop Manual', I have now [regarding these topics], from Haynes Publications. As with all their books [I've a dozen or more of their actual 'repair manuals'], this one appears to be well written and some excellent content [as is their actual repair manuals of specific automotive marks]. I bought it for a 'lark', and once it arrived, found it to be a pretty good read [although I am not done with it yet]. The FW 190 is well covered, both A/F and D models, IT IS NOT a 'do-it-yourself' fix/repair one's FW190, if you catch my meaning. However it does cover many components and systems on the 190's. I bought it because I am a modeler and have a half-dozen of more 190's, ranging from 1/48th to 1/24th Scale, to build. The material presented to the modeler is outstanding, regarding aircraft detail. Therefore a plus, for me and my modest endeavors. If ones a modeler or armchair historian interested in this subject matter, then I'd say add the book to your collection - You won't regret your investment. Good refence
Any person who builds models of loves aircraft will find this book a must . It high light so many features of how such a aircraft can be reproduced today. One of the better Haynes manuals
I've bought several of the ww2 aircraft manuals and generally they're OK with info and pics, even cut aways. This is one of the best, has restoration images and very useful for scale modelling and an interesting read. Reccomend this oneBestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu
