MC-505 Groovebox Royalty
As with several earlier innovative electronic instruments, you will find a number of musicians that believe in the MC-505 in a way that takes personal in-depth experience to understand. The unit is 21 years old. Has one of the best Arpeggiators,with an almost unlimited rhythmic and melodic capability, far exceeding MPower Synth or even Cthulhu. The D-Bean infrared controller controls and inputs control changes, midi notes, turntable play, ad-lib modes and res and cut-off parameters, and the hardware sequencing workflow is truly at its best, just perfect, with 8 drum tracks and 7 tone tracks each with 4 waveforms. If you are careful and have the right software mastering tools, you can get the right space and warmth in your mix. I have built themes for art museum multimedia presentations, and songs for several recording projects. Looks like a toy, sounds like a rack of pro keyboards, fits in anywhere
The amount of interesting, high quality sounds is amazing on the Roland D2. Don't let the bright orange, toy-look fool you. This is PRO gear that stands the test of time. 600 patches is more than many keyboards for example. And yet, its fairly simple to use and learn.
