  • All rounder lense

I am very pleased with this lense. I mage is sharp enough, you get a wide range of focal length, specially that 16mm which is very useful for indors, tight spaces and landscape. Not Quite a fast lense though.. knowing your light and a good flash is of great help. Overall, nice color, good sharpness across the range, and the flexibility to go from 16-300mm in a single lense.... love it.

  • What a good deal so far

Works just fine so far after a few months in the filed. Great price and lens for the money. The only slight drawback is the lens is a little slow at time to focus but you get a hell of a focal range out of it. There is little distortion at both extreme ends but nothing outrages or you do what I do is to back off just a touch and its fine Would buy again.

  • So worth it!

I'm a total amateur photographer, I've never even so much as taken a class, but this lens makes shooting far away objects a no-brainer. The zoom level is amazing, working with it in auto mode is very easy. Sorry I can't give a photographer level review, but from my truly amateur perspective, I'm in love with this lens!

  • Go-to Lens for sports

Not too heavy to become my everyday lens, replacing a 18-70 mm Tamron. I still keep that one on my backup camera, but I've switched to the 16-300mm for my main camera. Auto Focus seems reliable, only switched to MF a couple of times. My use is primarily for sports journalism with occasional use in general news for a weekly newspaper. I usually take upwards of 1000 frames during a regular week, more if there are more games going on. The real test will be when football season arrives, with lower light levels at night and uneven stadium lighting.

  • Great lens

It is so convenience that I don't need to switch lens as needed. Even the more important value is it will not miss the moment when I want to shot. The lens auto focus is quick. These were what I experienced in the past month after I got the lens. Its real value is much higher than I expected. The only thing that is not really satisfy is it is not a fast lens. However, that is why its cost is so affordable.

  • A lens for all seaons.

This is a lens of convenience. The wide 16mm through to 300mm gives you a fantastic zoom range that covers almost every circumstance. The lens is sturdy and the zoom ring is suitably firm. The sharpness was excellent considering this lens does so much. Barrel distortion was evident at the extreme ends butit is controlled. Vignette was also evident and a bit too prevalent. This was the only negative in an otherwise excellent lens that more than meets expectations. Highly recommended.

  • Great all around lens

I bought this for my Canon 700D (T5i). I wanted a do everything lens so I can concentrate on taking photos, not deciding what lens to use. This certainly fits the bill. I've snapped everything from an Army chopper flying overhead, to a dragonfly perched on my SUV's antenna. Been really impressed with it. Would recommend it to a friend if they asked.

  • Early firmware incompatible with some cameras.

Bought it for Canon 80d and early models firmware causes camera freeze if LiveView or Video is used. So lens is useless for me. Tamron doesn't offer easy worldwide updates for that. VERY dissapointed with Tamron policies with their faulty firmware. www tamron co jp/en/news/release_2016/0406

  • Great all around lens

The zoom range on this lens is out of this world! Especially for the price. Great walking around lens. Comes up a little short when shooting in low light.
