With this kit, you not only get the Nikon D90 AF-S DX digital camera, but also the VR 18-105-millimeter lens. This 18-105-millimeter lens allows you to photograph almost every subject, and it boasts a Silent Wave Motor and Vibration Reduction image stabilization technology. Nikon's Extra-Low Dispersion optical glass provides optimum levels of correction for chromatic aberrations. Whether you are shooting movies or photos, the eye-level Pentaprism Single-Lens Reflex Viewfinder allows you to see the image directly through the D90 lens. This Nikon DSLR AF-S DX has both a built-in monaural microphone and a 3.5mm stereo mini-pin jack. You can save your movies in 24 fps VGA or QVGA formats. The Nikon D90 can save up to nine customizable exposure settings and up to five manually preset white balance values. White balance settings include seven manual modes that can be fine-tuned. Automatic white balance settings compensate for shade, clouds, direct sunlight, incandescent bulbs, and seven types of fluorescent lighting. You can set this Nikon D90 to automatically give priority to the shutter or the aperture setting. To set up the Nikon quickly, use one of the scene modes. The camera will automatically choose its settings based on its light meter readings. Options include Portrait, Night Portrait, Close-up, Landscape, and Sports for capturing fast action. The D90's autofocus allows you to choose up to 11 focus points. You can also set the focus for a normal or wide angle shot. In continuous-servo mode, the camera automatically adjusts the focus, which is especially helpful for shooting movies. For still photography, shutter speeds range from 1/4000 of a second to 30 seconds with two continuous shooting speeds. The lowest speed for continuous shooting (CL) is one to four frames per second; the fastest (CH) is 4.5 fps. The Nikon D90 has both a built-in pop-up flash and a flash accessory shoe. The built-in flash has a range of 56 feet. Flash options include balanced fill, front, and rear curtain, red-eye reduction, slow sync, and slow sync with red-eye reduction. You can compensate for flash settings by -3 to +1 EV levels in increments of 1/3 or 1/2 step. This camera supports Nikon's Creative Lighting System (CLS). In-camera editing lets you trim and straighten images, correct red-eye, apply a quick retouch, or adjust the color balance. D-lighting restores details to areas that are very dark or very light. You can also apply an image overlay, control distortion, and apply filters or a fish-eye effect. You can view your images on this Nikon's 3-inch LCD monitor. The monitor offers seven levels of brightness to compensate for a variety of lighting conditions. With Pictmotion, you can create in-camera shows blending your movies and photos with music and a choice of visual styles. The monitor also offers a wide 170-degree viewing angle, so everyone can watch. Share your images on an NTSC television via HDMI or on your computer via Wi-Fi or the USB port. Display them full frame, as a slideshow, or as four-, nine-, or 72-segment grids. You can use the lens to zoom in on your images or view the histogram, highlight point display, and shooting data for each one. The 18-105-millimeter lens has an optical zoom of 5.8x. The Nikon D90 stores movies and images on an SD or SDHC memory card. It is powered by an EN-EL3e rechargeable Lithium-ion battery. Great deal for well-kept camera
