Sharp, lightweight and inexpensive
I was looking for the sharpest lens available for micro 4/3, and the only thing I knew was Leica Nocticron worth $1600. Even though reviews say it's fabulaou, that's way too much for my amateur use. Then I found a comparison of 3 42.5-45mm lenses and this Olympus 45mm f/1.8 was the second sharp after the Nocticron, wow! For about a $200, yes! Now, after I've been using it for some time already, I must say, it is sharp. Sharper than my Panasonic 25mm f/1.7. Way sharper than my Olympus 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 EZ. Yet, it looses some sharpness after f/2.8 and lower. At 1.8, it even gives darker pictures (that's strong vignetting, I guess). I want to make a comprehensive comparison at f/1.8 and higher up to 4.0 and watch every pixel. Maybe later :-) I'm definitely happy with the lens. I consider it's a must-buy 45mm (90mm equivalent) for 4/3 cameras.

great lens for portrait photos
This is a great portrait lens for a MFT camera. I use this on the Panasonic GH5 and the images are sharp, detailed there's a lovely background bokeh on pictures taken owing to the aperture. A great prime lens for those wanting nice portraits.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

More than Just a Portrait Lens
Described as a portrait lens, which of course it is, it is also very good at other similar shots, not least for flowers. Its large aperture enables it to give great bokeh, and even at full aperture the sharpness is impressive. Great little lens.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

A great little lens
This is a remarkably small lens, much smaller than my 25mm f1.7 Panasonic and a delight to use on a small M4/3rds body (I use a Panasonic GX80) It's very sharp with a nice rendering and portraits at f1.8 have a very pleasant shallow depth of field. Great little lens
First prime lens to compliment my two zooms (Zuiko 14-150 and Lumix 12-32). I have a 27mm f1.7 equivalent on my phone so put off buying a Zuiko 17mm f1.8 (34mm equivalent) for my camera.
