Ibanez AS153 electric semi-hollow guitar
Finding a semi-hollow with an ebony fretboard, bone nut, and flame maple body in a es-335-size guitar for around $600, used, is a good deal in my book. The fit and finish of this Ibanez is excellent, and I like the tone from the Super-58 humbuckers (the neck pick-up even has a coil-split). Really, the only thing I didn't like about it is the gold-colored hardware, as this color wears off somewhat with skin contact, and I also found the pick-guard to be too high for comfort. I made my own out of lexan, and routed it to fit between the pick-up mounting rings, instead of up on top of them like the original.
The label inside the body said "made in China", but when I entered the serial # into a search site, it said that the guitar was made in Korea. Either way, Asian made of high quality.
