glad to be protected wish it was nicer
I live/work at a hot springs based retreat center. I'm super glad to have the protection for the baths AND i would love to have a color screen. As it is the screen lags slightly between pages and significantly when between books or home screen options. Easy on the eyes. Lightweight. The rear of the case wraps around to the screen side and has surprisingly sharp edges; i bought a cover to compensate. Great if you can't avoid reading in the dark.
Upgraded to this from my old Nook without the glowlight because I often read in a parked car at night and don't want to sit there with the dome light on. Honestly the only improvement that matters to me is the glowlight, so if you always have a lamp available when you are reading at night, I recommend you save a couple bucks and get the regular Nook. Gave it four stars because they took away the ability to turn off some touch screen functions and turn pages with physical buttons. You always have to handle it carefully because an accidental touch of the screen turns the page. The old Nook could disable that problem. I also miss my old custom screensavers. This model doesn't allow that. This one is better looking than my old one, but it's just for reading books, so that doesn't make up for the loss of physical buttons.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Oh that nook button!
I purchased this to replace my aging nook simple touch. I like it, glo light works well, and the screen is very sharp and clear. The one major problem is the sensitivity of the Nook button just below the screen. This is essentially the menu button. It is way to sensitive and very often I find myself back on my library screen after even a very slight amount of pressure on or near the button. Can only call it annoying! Really like the Glowlight Plus. Great quality screen which is incredibly clear.
So the Glowlight plus is a great device but it does need a nice case which really changed the product to near perfection for me. The text on the glowlight is really crisp and I am very happy with the device. If you are considering buying it make sure to get a case for it to go with. Great but....
I like the reader. The battery life is somewhat less than the previous model as the back light remains on at a low level even when turned down. With moderate backlight the life is significantly reduced. One thing I don't like is the habit of doing things not invoked. For example a touch near the home button (not on it) sends the reader to home. A too robust squeeze on the case can advance or retard pages. These things are, however, minor and the reader is generally a joy. It is much better than the paperback book. I would have a hard time going back. The built in dictionary is a great resource. I'm loving my Nook upgrade
I really like the backlight & the screen when I am reading. The buttons are a bit sensitive so I had to get a cover so it was easier to hold and not press the front Nook button. Excellent, No Complaints.
Nice! Good clear screen, excellent for reading, the blue screen on my previous Nook and Kindle really did effect my sleeping adversely. This one is great on ly eyes. I really like the aluminum case, kind of a champagne color. Remember to update the software from Barnes and Noble before trying to use the GlowLight. Great reader
I have been using Nook readers for several years now. Unless the device is physically abused they last very well. I do a lot of camping and am rather rough with my devices so I have gone through several iterations of the E-Ink readers, from crushing to lightning strikes. The cases have increased in strength during each upgrade. The only thing I would change in the latest model is soften the edges and bring back the buttons from the first model. Great eReader
I bought this because I previously had Nook products, and didn't want to lose my nook library. It's similar to the Kindle Paperwhite. The screen is crisp and very high-resolution. The device is a bit slow to boot up, and turning pages can be kind of sluggish too, but overall I'm happy with this eReader. Can't expect it to be as fast as my iphone or any tablet out there. Product good
I love books and glowlight plus is the best option. However, glowlight cant download outside US which is kind of unfair. I live in NZ and this is the limitation which is a let down. Took me ages searching online how to do it. Whats worst is the false hope that the customer service agent from barnes and nobles telling me he verified my account now I can purchase books even after saying I live in NZ.
