It's a great tool that makes delidding easy. Sure there's cheaper alternatives out there, but it's made out of solid material. Anodized Aluminum in fact and so I know this tool will be good for several uses. That said it made delidding my i5 itself incredibly easy (i5 4670k) and that was the quick part. The not so quick part has nothing to do with the cpu delidding tool itself. Rather the cleanup of the cpu and integrated heat spreader. The Delid Die Mate 2 also comes with a clamping tool to relid your processor, should you choose to do this. What sealant you use will determine how long the clamp stays on, I used a silicone sealant that fully cured after 24 hours. The tool also comes with a plastic insert that helps to center you IHS and keep it centered for clamping. This resulted in my first delid experience and it was a success, I attribute a large chunk of that success to this delidding tool itself.

A great ending to a great PC build!
The anxiety of damaging your CPU is brief. Pay attention and apply thermal paste appropriately...results are an Over clock that are not only stable but cooler. A great finish to an even better build.

Perfect tool for the job
Well engineered (of course it is...it's German)! Ripping open a $400 CPU is scary, but no have fear when using this tool.

Delidding 9th gen Intel and other soldered cpus requires stout hardware and this delivers.
