Very useful, very solid, works well!!
just got it today so im still getting used to it. honestly, the hardest part is getting your mind in the right frame of mind to do the actual cutting without getting all turned around and screwing up the math equations! haha, its very easy to get confused as to which way to orient the mat when doing custom sizes where the borders on top and bottom are different than the sides. the machine works well. easy to understand and very heavy/solid. feels like a quality piece of equipment. can cut full sized 32x40 inch sheets if need be. i have used it to make three double mats just this afternoon so im sure i'll have an update in the near future, but for now I would for sure recommend it!! **UPDATE** - After having used this unit for the last three days, cutting about a dozen double mats, ive noticed a few things that bear mentioning. it doesn't cut square. not right out of the box that is. the side measurement guide is not true to the life rail, which in turn is not true to the rear stop. i had to get out my medium framing square and get everything aligned properly in order to get perfect 90 degree cuts. it probably would have been fine if i was doing only single mats. but trying to do double mats without making sure its perfect is a waste of time. your parallel cuts will be completely off, and completely noticeable. the rear stop is the only guide that doesn't move, so that has to be your reference. i had to loosen all screws that attach all the guides and dial them in to the rear stop while very carefully using my framing square. maybe im a bit picky, but am very happy with it now!!

Even without a lot of experience, by using the written instructions and a few good youtube videos, I am cutting fine mats. Working great!

Gives your work a nice professional touch
Straightforward... you must have some agility with the cutter itself... and of course must pay attention to the finer details of placing the mat board in position but really a no brainer...It is best to bring the Cutter right to the corner and not to crossover...Sometimes the corners are not completely cut .. so you have to finish the corner with an X-Acto knife annually

Great Home Mat Cutter
If you are looking to save money on cutting mats- this is a very good option. Logan has always made sturdy products . A great value for the money.

Good Value for The Money
Getting artwork framed is expensive. This Mat Cutter allows me to cut the mats and backing for a lot less and I have control of it. The unit seems to be of good quality and the tools that came with the cutter are of good quality. My first mat came out perfect and the framed artwork looks great. Considering the price and quality I'm happy with this this mat cutter.

Better Product than Classic
Overall I am very pleased with this model. Very well designed and good quality. I like the hinged bar a lot. The only suggestion would be to extend the ruler attachment to 24 inches from the current 20".
